Joseph Sydney Poythress (1869 – 1911)

 Joseph Sydney Poythress was the son of John Lewis Poythress (1829-1905) and Tabitha Ann Nunn (1838-1907), 8th generation.

He married Lucy Eva Malvina Stainback. Their children were: William Oliver (1892-1935) who married Lessie Hoyle, Charles Lewis (1894-1976) who married Ruby Callis, George Clinton (1896-1923), Arthur H. (1898-1947), Thomas (1900-1936) who married Ola, Joseph Ashton (1902-1974) who married Verla Jacobs, Elizabeth (1903-1984) who married a Parham, Clyde L. (1905-1951), Philip Bruce (1907-1973) who married Magnolia Gupton and Alma (1909-1992) who married a Duke.
