Raiford/Poythress Family Bible, 1793 – 1939 Published 1833
Transcription Notes: The Raiford/Poythress Bible, is contributed to the Poythress List, by the descendants of Carl Hutton Poythress. Information obtained from these pages may be copied and used to further Raiford/Poythress genealogy research.
At this time, we do not know who this Bible originally belonged to. It was in the possession of my grandfather, Carl Hutton Poythress, until his death in 1974. It was then in the possession of his oldest daughter, Nedra Poythress Gieger, until her death in 2002. This Bible is presently in the possession of her son, Edward Lee Gieger, Jr., in Jackson, Mississippi.
I was given copies of these pages by my father David Franklin Poythress, who had them photographed by a photographer, in Jackson, Mississippi, November 2002.
